Rudolph “Rudy” Vrana, 85, of Beasley, passed away on March 28, 2017, at home in Beasley surrounded by his loving family. Rudolph was born on August 2, 1931 in Granger, TX to the late Stanley Vrana and Wilma Dubec Vrana. Rudy was raised in Granger and attended schools there. He joined the Army in 1952 and served our country honorably. He married Mildred Polasek on October 21, 1954 she proceeded him in death on May 28, 1993. With God’s grace, he found love again and married Helen Kelner on August 20, 1995. Rudy enjoyed raising hogs, pigeons and goats. He could often be seen on a lawn mower. He enjoyed going to Polka dances and calling KULP radio in El Campo. He loved his family dearly and enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids and with a smile on their faces they will tell you he was always, “griping at us”. He was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of SPJST. In addition to his parents and his first wife, Mildred, he was proceeded in death by his son Robbie Vrana, sister, Martha Steffek, brothers, Frank Vrana and Stanley Vrana, Jr. Rudolph is survived by his wife of 21 years, Helen of Beasley, daughters, Barbara Vrana and Glen Eastwood of East Bernard, Patricia Kennedy and husband, Gerald of Wharton, sons; Rudy Vrana, Jr. of Needville and Jerry Vrana of Texas City, sisters, Marcella Neal of Taylor and Mary Hendricks of Taylor, brothers, Willie Vrana of Taylor, Joe Vrana of Rogers and Johnny Vrana of Granger; grandchildren, Chad Vrana and wife, Lindsey, Brett Vrana, Sami Reid and Blake, Bobby Glenn, Brian Glenn, Amber Landry, Ellen Herrin, Thomas Lee and Raymond Banks; great grandchildren, Mason, Benjamin, Raegan, Selah, Luke and Karder, along with many dear friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 30th starting at 5 p.m. with a holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, March 31st at 10 a.m. at St. Wencelaus Catholic Church in Beasley with Father Bill Bartniski officiating. A Rite of Christian Burial and Committal will follow at St. Wencelaus Catholic Cemetery in Beasley. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
