Conrad Kieler, 64, of Wharton passed away on Tuesday, April 4, 2017, in a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. Conrad was born on November 7, 1952 in Wharton, TX to the late William F. Kieler and Mary Sevcik Kieler. Conrad was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. He graduated from Southwest Texas State University and returned to Wharton to work at Wharton County Junior College as the Director of Payroll and Benefits. On December 6, 1980, he married Lynda Vincent. In his younger years, he enjoyed fishing and hunting and passed that love on to his son, Aaron. He enjoyed mowing his yard and his son’s yard, watching the weather channel and just being at home. Conrad loved his family and especially enjoyed his role as “Papa” to Bowen and Karsyn. He was known as a friend you could count on for help or advice. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Margaret Kieler. Conrad is survived by his wife of 36 years, Lynda Kieler, his son, Aaron Kieler and wife, Kodi of Wharton, brothers, Bruce Kieler of Wharton and William “Bill” Kieler and wife, Kim of Wharton, his grandchildren, Bowen and Karsyn Kieler and many dear friends. Visitation was held on Friday, April 7, 2017 starting at 5 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home with a Holy Rosary recited at 7:00 p.m. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on Saturday, April 8th at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Bob Knippenberg officiating. The Rite of Christian Burial and committal will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers were Wes Jones, Greg Janak, Mark Goodell, David Johanson, Richard Hyde and James Bullock. Honorary Pallbearers all his co-workers at WCJC. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Holy Family Altar Society or Prayer blanket ministry. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
