Louise C Hunt, 93, of Wharton and previously of Freeport, TX, passed away on Tuesday afternoon, April 4, 2017 in an El Campo hospital following a brief illness. Louise was born on February 24, 1924, to the late Lee and Dallas Fortenberry Carr in Newport, Arkansas. Louise was raised in the Newport area and graduated from Newport High School. She married Marvin Alvin Hunt on November 1, 1942 in Newport, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on November 21, 2008. The young couple resided in Freeport where Louise worked for Sears in their catalog department as a manager. Following retirement, Louise and Marvin moved to the Wharton area in 1984. They were active members of the Abell Street Church of Christ for many years. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Ullmann, sister, Aileen McCombs, and brothers, J.C. Carr, Jr. Carr, and Jimmie Carr. Louise is survived by her grandchildren, Marsha Janda and husband, Bryan of El Campo, and Clayton Ullmann and wife, Donna of Wharton, great grandchildren, Christopher Janda, Matthew Janda, Kevin Hamby, Traci Paul LaCaze and Staci Paul. Great great grandchildren, Kennade and Kadance. Visitation will be held on Saturday morning, April 8 after 10 am with funeral services held at 2 pm at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Luke Gutherie and Sherril Speer officiating.
