Donna Jeanne Martinez Donna Martinez, 70, of Wharton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at her residence in Wharton. Donna was born on November 12, 1946 in Jacksonville, Texas, a daughter of the late Feldon and Merle Crosby Dover. Donna was raised in an Army family, her father being a Master Sargent, and traveled through the United States. She graduated from Alto High School and earned her LVN at the Joe G. Davis School of Vocational Nursing at Huntsville Memorial Hospital in Huntsville, Texas. Donna worked as nurse in the Dialysis department for many years. She enjoyed reading, baking, and spending time with her grandchildren. No fall was complete unless there was a trip to the Renaissance Festival, where she relished the Pirate life. Donna loved her family wholeheartedly. She is survived by her daughter, Adria “GiGi” Carbo and husband, Carlos of College Station and son, David Martinez and wife, Christina of Wharton, sisters, Joy Hale of Bonham, Dorothy Spurgers of Leander, Kay Covington of Alto, brother, Michael Dover of Plano and grandchildren, Logan, Chye, Christian and Dave; and adopted grandchild Kelyn. Following cremation, a celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 23rd at 3pm at Kreuk Market, located at 768 N Earl Rudder Fwy, Bryan, TX 77802, with Rev. Meredith Wende officiating.
