Linda Skipper Baca Linda Skipper Baca, 65, of Wharton, passed away April 30, 2017, in an El Campo hospital following a sudden illness. Linda was born on May 2, 1951, in Houston, to Marion E and Lola Ward Skipper. Linda was raised in the Houston area and graduated from Aldine schools. She married John Charles Baca on June 19, 1976. The young couple moved to the Eagle Lake area before moving to Wharton in the early 1980’s. Linda obtained her Real Estate License and began working for Muegge Real Estate for several years before joining the firm at Hudgins Groover, where she worked for over 19 years. Linda enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling on vacation, and fishing. The highlight of her days was spending time with her grandchildren. Linda was a member of the East Wharton County Crime Stoppers, where she served as President for several years, and was the Democratic Party Chair for Wharton County. Linda was preceded in death by her father, Marion E. Skipper and brother Raymond Skipper. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John Baca of Wharton, son, Michael Baca and wife, Krystal of Wharton, mother, Lola Skipper of Houston, and grandchildren, Kase and Kelbie Baca of Wharton, and numerous friends. Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at 7pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Debbie Cenko officiating.
