Josephine Torres Flores, 66, of Spanish Camp, passed away May 1, 2017, at her residence following a lengthy illness. Josephine was born on September 24, 1950 in Eagle Lake, to the late Ernest Torres, Sr. and Gregoria Ortiz Torres. Josephine was raised in the Eagle Lake area and attended Eagle Lake schools. She married Manuel Flores in 1969 and they settled in the Spanish Camp area. A homemaker all her life, Josephine enjoyed helping her husband outdoors, and being around her family. When she could, she would watch old movies on television. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband, Manuel Flores, sisters, Rosa and Edia Torres and brother, Rudy Torres. She is survived by her daughters, Judy Flores and husband, Francisco Ortiz, Belinda Flores, and Melinda Flores and husband, Alberto Gonzales, Son; Manuel Flores, Jr., brother, Ernest Flores, Jr. and grandchildren, Francisco Ortiz, Jr., Miguel Ortiz, Jessica Reyna and Joe Reyna, III. Visitation will be held in the evening on Friday, May 5, 2017 at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with a parish rosary at 7pm. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, May 6 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with Father Bob Knippenberg. The Rite of Committal and burial will be in Glen Flora Cemetery in Crescent. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the family to help with expenses.
