Joseph “Jody” Polak Joseph “Jody” Polak, 68, of East Bernard, died May 17, 2017, in Sugar Land. Jody was born on March 16, 1949, in East Bernard, to Frank and Agnes Vacek Polak. Following high school, Jody attended Wharton County Junior College and Texas A&M University. He also served in the US Army. He later worked over 26 years as a Machinist for Hudson Products and later over eleven years for the Rudy Polak Farm. He always enjoyed making sausage, gardening, East Bernard football, and remodeling his home. His greatest joy came from spending time with good friends and activities with his grandkids. Jody leaves behind his wife of 45 years, Darline Chumchal Polak; daughter Billie-Jean Murphy & Patrick of Richmond; sons Patrick Polak & Kathy of Needville and Joey Polak & Vicki of Garwood; sister Jo Ann Preisler; brothers Rudy Polak & Mary Ann, Frank Polak & Betty, Dennis Polak & Brenda, Johnnie Polak & Dianna, and Raymond Polak & Janice; and grandchildren Randice, Brock, Reagan, Gracie, Maverick, Raelee, Addison, Weston and Presley. Visitation will be on Sunday starting at 5 p.m., at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with a Rosary at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday at 3 p.m. also at Holy Cross. The Rite of Committal and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Military Honors provided by American Legion Post 226. Pallbearers are John Arriguin, James Fajkus, Zach Loessin, Russell Rabius, Keith Koudela, Matt Joines, Jay Polak and Brock Polak.
