Kim Evens

Kim Alene Evens, 64, of Blessing, joined her Heavenly Father on July 19, 2017, in Blessing. Kim was born on March 1, 1953, in Wharton, to Eugene and Jo Ann Cook Michalec. Kim graduated from Bay City High School, class of 1972. She later married the love of her life Richard Martin Evens in March of 1973. She always made her family and her Lord the focus of her life. She enjoyed hunting deer, fishing, and wood burning crafts. She also loved to be with her children and grandchildren. What she loved more than anything was to be in the presence of the Lord. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Richard Evens; sons: Gene Thomas Evens and his wife Rachel of Cypress, TX and Galen Ray Evens and his wife Florence of Houston, TX; sister: Marsha Michalec of Brady, TX; brother: George Michalec and wife Marla of Bay City, TX; grandchildren: Ethan Evens, Justine Evens, Mason Evens, Claudia Jean Evens, Michael Johnson, Joseph Evens; nieces: Jamey Boyd and Julie Harner; and nephews Wesley Michalec, David Michalec and Thomas Meadows. Services will be at LaWard United Pentecostal Church, 52 La Ward St, La Ward, TX 77970. Visitation will be from 1-2 and the service will be at 2:00 Saturday, July 22, 2017 with Pastor Mike Williams officiating. The burial will follow at 4:00 at Hawley Cemetery, Blessing, TX.
