Mary Ann Gutierrez

Mary Ann Gutierrez, 67, of Wharton, TX, passed away on Thursday morning, July 26, 2017 in a Houston hospital following a sudden illness. Mary Ann was born on December 17, 1949, to Daniel Rodriguez and Cirilda Rodriguez in Wharton, Texas. Mary Ann was raised in the Wharton, Egypt and El Campo areas and attended school there. After she married the love of her life, Seferino on October 12, 1968 at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton they made their home in Crescent and Hungerford and later moved to Houston. Mary Ann was a homemaker and enjoyed taking care of her husband and 4 children. Her greatest joy was spending time with her beloved grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by daughter, Mary Jane Flores, sister Virginia Rodriguez and sister in law Anna Rodriguez. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Seferino Gutierrez; daughter Cynthia Guerrero and husband, David, Jr. of Lake Jackson, sons, Freddie Gutierrez and Joseph Gutierrez both of Houston; sisters, Dominga Loera and husband, Martin of Austin, Rosa Rodriguez and husband, Juan of El Campo and Susie Ann Garza and husband, Eduvi Sr. of Wharton; brothers, Joe Rodriguez of Wharton, Daniel Rodriguez and wife, Sylvia of Ganado, David Rodriguez of El Campo and Arthur Rodriguez of Wharton, Brother in law, Jose Rosales of Wharton; grandchildren, David Guerrero III, Amber Guerrero, Dana Guerrero and Aimee Guerrero. Visitation was held on Friday evening starting at 5 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral mass will be celebrated on July 29, 2017 at 2 p.m. with Deacon David Valdez officiating.
