Erminda Longoria Samora Cordero, 69, returned to be with the Lord in which she came on July 28, 2017 at home surrounded by her family. She was the wife of Adolph G. Cordero, Sr. They shared 51 years of marriage together. Born in El Campo, Texas – she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Louisa Longoria Samora. Erminda was raised in the Wharton area and attended school there. She was a devoted Mother and homemaker to her husband and family. She later began working at STMC/Memorial Hermann in Wharton, TX where she retired after 9 dedicated years. She was a dedicated member of Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church for 22 years. She enjoyed having her family around her and caring for them at all times. She loved participating in the Signing group for the Church programs. She will be remembered for her contagious smile. She is survived by her husband Adolph G. Cordero Sr. of 51 years; children: Adolph Cordero Jr. and his fiancé Emily L. Arcos; Tammy L. Cordero Velasquez and her husband, Martin Velasquez Sr. and Erminda L. Cordero Hernandez and her husband, Homero Hernandez, Jr.; sisters; Isabel Samora Cordero, Lupe Samora Sedillo, Mary Samora Balles, and Patsy Samora Peña; sister in law; Elma Samora; grandchildren Alyssa Velasquez, Adolph Cordero III, Martin Velasquez Jr., Victoria Cordero, Bianca L. Hernandez, Homero Hernandez III and Clorissa Velasquez; and great-grandchildren: Kaeden Velasquez, Thalia Persaius Velasquez, Sophia Penelope Velasquez, Andrew Ryan Solis, Jr. and Martin Velasquez III. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by brothers; Gregory Samora, Johnny Samora Sr. and her daughter in law, Sylvia Araguz Cordero. Services were held on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at Peace Tabernacle Pentecostal Church, with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. and the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. J. Michael Bumgarner officiating. Burial was followed at Evergreen Memorial Park. Reception was held after the burial at Peace Tabernacle United Pentecostal Church. Serving as pallbearers were Adolph Cordero III, Homero Hernandez III, Jeff Looper, Arturo Garza, Valentin Garza, Victor Samora and Johnny Samora.
