Autrey Horelica, 86, of Matagorda and formerly of Houston, passed away August 25, 2017, at her nephews’ house in Wharton following being evacuated from Matagorda. Autrey was born on March 17, 1931 in Houston, TX, the daughter of the late Alton and Autrey E. Stamm Tidmore. Autrey was raised in the Heights area of Houston and attended school there. She married Tilford Gene Horelica on May 25, 1970 and they lived in the Houston area until this past spring when they moved to Matagorda. Autrey worked as a technical writer for many years with Cameron Iron Works, and Brown and Root. She enjoyed fishing, hunting, and showing cats back in the 60s. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Curtis Tidmore. She is survived by her husband, Tilford Horelica of Matagorda, sons, Ronald Bridges of Houston and Glenn Bridges and wife, Angel of Katy, and grandchildren, Blake A. Bridges, Morgan R. Bridges, Taylor W. Bridges, Nicole Bridges and Lexie Bridges. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 7 at 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. Laura Olson officiating.
