Joan Phillips Clemons, 81, went to be with the Lord on September 8, 2017 following a long illness while surrounded by her loving daughter and friends. She was born on September 16, 1935 in El Dorado, Arkansas to Chester Phillips and Dorothy Tackett Phillips. Joan was a graduate of El Dorado High School and received her Master in Social work from the University of Houston. She was licensed as a Licensed Master Social Worker-Advanced Practitioner (LMSW-AP). Joan enjoyed helping others through her work as a Social worker. She loved shopping, crafts especially making jewelry and was forever on the hunt for that perfect antique. In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her twin brother, Jerry Phillips, her young son, Phillip Michael McCoy II, and her sister, Jackie Phillips. Left to mourn her is her daughter, Stacie Konvicka and husband, Steven of Wharton and their son, Jody; and brother Chester Phillips of Little Rock, Arkansas and many friends and neighbors, along with the countless people she helped through her work. She is also survived by her sons, Vincent Kendrick, Richard Kendrick and Tony Kendrick. Following cremation, a private family service will be held at a later date.
