Franklin Dunson Moore Franklin Moore, 72, of Pledger, passed away September 26, 2017, at his residence in Pledger surrounded by his loving family. Franklin was born on May 22, 1945 in Houston, to the late Joseph B. and Una Mae Dunson Moore. Franklin was raised in Houston and graduated from San Jacinto High School. He served our country proudly as a United States Marine. Following his Honorable Discharge, Franklin attended and graduated from Texas A&M University. He married Linda Cleyone Chapman on July 14, 1973 in Iago. Franklin worked as a manager for Eckerd’s Drugs, Toys R Us, and Alamo Lumber for many years. In his spare time, Franklin enjoyed reading his Bible, teaching Sunday School, and watching old movies on T.V. Many happy days were spent riding his favorite tractor, and he was known as the jokester of the family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by sisters, Coralea Bunch, Pauline Brooks and Jean Moore, brothers, Glenn Moore, J.B. Moore, and Lonnie Raymond Moore. Franklin is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda of Pledger, his children, Joseph Moore and wife, Leigh of Rosenberg, Sarah Moore Resendez and husband, Joey of Cotulla and Jeremiah Moore and wife, Renee of Pledger, brother, George Moore and wife, Mary of Jersey Village, sister, Jimmy Dickinson and husband, Bill of Dallas, grandchildren, Madison Moore, Eli Moore and Micah Moore Resendez. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 starting at 1 p.m. at Iago Federated Church in Iago with Funeral services starting at 2pm at the church with Rev. Bob Hobbins officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers will be Jeremiah Moore, Joseph Moore, Greg Moore, Alan Moore, Billy Dickinson, Joe Marvin Moore and Joey Resendez. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
