Wendy Mills Wendy Mills, 61, of Wharton, passed away September 30, 2017, at a Wharton nursing center. Wendy was born on July 8, 1956, in Richmond, TX, to Mildred Wilkinson Weathers and the late Carl Weathers. Wendy grew up in the Katy area and graduated from Katy High School class of ’74. She later attended and graduated from Wharton County Junior College. It was there she met Michael Mills, and they were married January 21, 1978 in Katy. Wendy worked as a secretary for St. Paul Lutheran Church for many years. She was also an activity director at Katyville Nursing Home. She enjoyed doing craft work, crochet, scrapbooking, stamping, and reading. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Stormy Weathers. Wendy is survived by her husband of 39 years, Michael Mills, son, Robert Mills and daughter, Kristin Mills, all of Wharton, her mother, Mildred Weathers, and brother, Dusty Weathers of Katy, nieces Jessica Weathers of Baytown and Jillian Michalec of El Campo, and numerous friends. Following cremation, memorial services will be held on Thursday, October 5 at 2pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with Rev. John Willmann officiating.
