Services for Leona Agnes Tydlacka will be held at 10 am on Monday, December 18, 2017 at Holy Family Catholic Church with Rev. Bob Knippenberg and Rev. Dominic Antwi- Boasiako celebrating the Funeral Mass. Visitation will begin after 9 am with a rosary to be recited at 930 am before Mass. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Leona Agnes Tydlacka, age 91, of Wharton, passed away on December 14, 2017. She was born on May 12, 1926, in Ellinger, Tx, to Joseph and Anna (Kramr) Kallus. She was the youngest of 8 children. Leona married Woodrow J. Tydlacka on January 20, 1944. They lived briefly in Lake Jackson, Tx before relocating to Wharton, Tx. Leona had a dedicated career extending over 36 years at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company, now known as AT&T. She was a devoted wife and loving mother to her seven children. She looked forward to and thoroughly enjoyed her trips to the casinos, was an outstanding baker and cook, and a perfectionist seamstress. But most of all, she loved taking care of and spending time with each and every one of her grandchildren. She was affectionately known at Miss T. She was a devote member of Holy Family Catholic Church, member of the Fellowship Committee, the Alter Society, and the KJZT. Leona was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow, her son, Joe Tydlacka, and her daughter, Marciel Kucera. Survivors include her daughters, Margaret Broussard and husband, Donald, Gladys Carroll, sons, Woodrow Tydlacka and wife, donna, Jerry Tydlacka and wife, Carol, John Tydlacka, 13 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver, Geraldine Peters. The family is forever grateful to Geraldine Peters for devoted time and attention, her love, care, patience, and support while taking care of Leona. Also, we sincerely thank Leah Howard and her staff at Wharton Nursing and Rehab. For their care and concern while taking care of Leona during her stay.
