In Loving Memory Of Victor Jimenez Rodriguez September 10, 1947 – December 28, 2017   Victor J. Rodriguez, 70, of Wharton, passed away peacefully with his family at his side on the Thursday, December 28, 2017. He was born September 10, 1947 in Newgulf to parents Francisco Mata Rodriguez and Maria Jimenez.      Mr. Rodriguez was raised in Newgulf and attended local public schools. On July 24, 1965 he married Susie Tristan, who preceded in him in death on September 8, 2005.        He worked for Texasgulf and retired in 2009 from El Campo ISD. He was a faithful member of Templo Bethel church and Templo Bethesda Church of Wharton. He pastored Templo Sinai Church in Boling; during that time he had a Spanish Christian radio program (Cristo Esta A La Puerta) on KANI radio. He later pastored Lirio De Los Valles Church in El Campo.      He is survived by his daughter, Hellen R. Tijerina of Wharton; son, Victor James Rodriguez of Wharton, and sisters; Maria Gonzalez of Bay City and Lydia Rodriguez of Boling, many nieces and nephews.      Visitation will be held Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 10 am till 12 noon at the Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will begin immediately thereafter, and burial will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.   Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
