Karen Biggs Smithey

Karen Biggs Smithey 07-14-1941 - 12-15-2017 Karen Biggs Smithey, 76, of Sugar Land passed away on Friday, December 15, 2017 at a Sugar Land hospital. She was born on July 14, 1941 in Wharton, TX, to the late, Robert Oscar Biggs and Mittie Pugh Biggs. Karen was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School, class of 1959. She went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University with a degree in education. Karen was a teacher in the Boling and Wharton ISDs and later taught at Wharton County Junior College. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Earl Biggs. Survivors include her daughter, Audra Smithey and husband, Kent Langerlan of Round Rock, grandchildren, Drew Dawson and Tatiana Benoit, great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Brooklyn, Allison and Mackensie. Memorial Services will be held in Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton, Texas on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 2pm with Gerald Donaldson and Sherril Speer officiating.
