James Franklin Vincek, DDs, of Orinda, California, passed away on September 19, 2017. He was born on August 22, 1942 to the late Charlie and Tillie Vincek. James grew up in Beasley, Texas. He graduated from Lamar Consolidated High School in 1969. He graduated from Sam Houston State University before joining the United States Air Force. After serving a term in Turkey, he returned home and attended the University of Texas Dental School in Houston and earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1967. After working for a short time as a dentist in Rosenberg, he moved to California. In the late 1980’s, James met his favorite patient, Kimiko Kuroe, who quickly became the love of his life. James and Kimiko married in July 1990. They spent 18 years of their life together until her death in 2007. James enjoyed traveling, spending time with friends and family, good food and a good time. In addition to his parents and wife, Kimiko, James was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Ray Vincek, his sister, Mildred Shula and her husband, Bill. James is survived by his sister-in-law, Lois Vincek, his nephews and niece, James Vincek, Gary Vincek, Cheryl Failla and their families.
