Laura “Lannie” McMillan Laura “Lannie” McMillan, 85, of Wharton, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018. She was born on July 29, 1932 in Enid, Oklahoma to the late Col Moody Wayne and Evaline Elizabeth White Bartlett. Lannie spent a portion of her childhood in Bay City and in South Korea. After a whirlwind courtship, she married Robert Dayvault Williams on a rainy September 23, 1950 in Glen Flora. They lived their life together in the Wharton area where Lannie pursued several jobs as Postmaster of Glen Flora, and as Gin Manager for Robert’s cotton gin. She served on the Wharton school board for 15 years. Mr. Williams passed away on December 12, 1989. Lannie later found love again and married Mr. Waymon D. (Mac) McMillan on November 25, 1993 in Wharton. Lannie is survived by her husband of 24 years, Waymon D. McMillan, sons, Bart Williams (Ginger) of Orange and David Williams of Austin, daughters, Lisa Wilson (Allen) of Houston, Jena Walker (Calvin) of Georgetown, Barbie McMillan of Houston and Sherry Roberts of Horseshoe Bay, grandchildren, Jennifer Williams, Jake Williams (Nicole), Julie Williams, Robert Wilson (Linessa), Michael Wilson, Anne Boon (Garrett), Brent McMillan (Eryka) and Ryan McMillan, great grandchildren, Bryce, Ridley, Samuel, Louise and Annie. Memorial services were held on Tuesday. January 9, 2018 at 2pm at the First United Methodist Church in Wharton with Rev. Kelly Krone officiating. Private family burial was held in the Wharton Cemetery.
