Toni "T.K" Copeland

T.K. Copeland, 72, of Wharton, TX passed away early Thursday morning, February 1, 2018 at an El Campo nursing center. She was born on October 5, 1945 in Chicago, Illinois a daughter of the late Tony and Mabel Ann Lancaster-Davis Lipscombe. T.K. graduated from Waco High School in Waco. She later attended WCJC here in Wharton. On December 29, 1979, she married David Copeland in Wharton. T.K. worked for Wharton County Junior College for 25 years before retiring. She later joined the Preschool staff at First Baptist Child Development Center. T.K. and David enjoyed going on cruises, traveling to Europe several times. She also enjoyed being a fireman's wife, joining David for conventions and meetings all over Texas. T.K. was also active at First Baptist Church, being a dedicated member of the Women of The Word Ministry. In addition to her parents, T.K. was preceded in death by her brother, Roy Lipscombe. She is survived by her husband of 38 years, David Copeland of Wharton, daughters, Melissa K. Hand and husband, Shelton of Nashville, TN, and Kim Wake and partner, Pat DeLucia of Lubbock, TX, sister, Ann Newman of Blanco and brother, Ken Lipscombe and wife, Susan of El Campo, grandchildren, Amanda Kay James, Ryan James, Chatam Hand, Noah Hand, Jackie DeLucia, Jaime DeLucia, and Evan DeLucia, along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Wharton with Rev. Tony Wishert officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church CDC in her name. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
