A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Donald served his country in the United States Navy for 4 years. You know they say, “cussing like a sailor…” He was the sailor that never cussed. Nana never heard one ugly word come from his mouth in 56 years she was married to him. Donald was a member of the Wharton County Sherriff Department as a Sargent retiring in 2002. He since served as a Bailiff in Wharton County for the past 17 years. He was also in the Fort Bend Auxiliary Sherriff Department for more than 20 years. Donald was a dedicated member of Holy Cross Catholic Church. He served as the Director of Rockin W Youth Rodeo for many years. He coached little league baseball and all-play football. He was known to his family as Papa, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, and going on trips with his grandchildren. He also loved watching his grandchildren play volleyball, football, softball, baseball, cheerlead, perform with the derby dolls, and compete in rodeos. Don loved to travel with Dolores and friends. He would be ready to go when called. Papa was so respected and his love for God, and his family showed in all he did. Papa helped thousands of people. He never told anyone, no. Don was good at fixing anything and everything. His sons and grandsons carry on that trait. Left to cherish Don’s memory is his wife of 56 years, Dolores Pietsch, his children; Donald (Scooter) Pietsch and wife, Sherry, Danielle (Denny) Krenek, and husband, Paul, and Darby Pietsch & wife, Heather, his sister, Jackie Carr, and brother, Edward (Mickey) Pietsch, and his grandchildren; Cheyenne Bouse (JC), Dakota Pietsch (Cami), Montana Pietsch, Kandace Orsak (Matthew), Courtney Dimento (Joe), Kacee Krenek, Kassidy Pietsch, and Colton Peitsch. He is also survived by six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Jack and Sybil Pietsch, and his sisters; Marlene Thornton, and Vernelle Tauch. Pallbearers will be; Joe Dimento, Matthew Orsak, Colton Pietsch, Dakota Pietsch, Montana Pietsch, and JC Bouse. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Wharton County Sherriff’s Department. Memorial Donations should be made to Holy Cross Catholic Church in Donald’s name. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
