Albert Eugene Chumchal

Albert Eugene Chumchal passed into the arms of the Lord on October 12th, 2018 at Oak Bend Medical Center in Richmond TX. He was born November 29th, 1927 in Wharton TX to the late Phillip Chumchal and Annie Sabrsula Chumchal Albert attended school in both Hungerford and Wharton.  He was a longtime resident of Wharton and worked as a Farmer and Rancher.  On June 4, 1946 he married the love of his life, Georgene Labay in El Campo and together they raised three sons, Wayne, Dale and Gary. He loved to go dancing, spending time outdoors hunting, fishing, working in his garden, cooking, BBQing, and traveling.  He was raised in the Catholic faith and a long- time member of St. John Catholic Church.  He was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister: Helen Chasak and grandson: Greg Chumchal. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Georgene of Wharton; sons: Wayne Chumchal and wife, Lorraine of East Bernard, Dale Chumchal and wife, Susan of Wharton and Gary Chumchal and wife, Dotty of Pleak; brother: Irvin Chumchal and wife Aileen of Wharton; grandchildren: Sharon Kettelman, Bryan Chumchal, Denette Snyder, Steven Britton, James Chumchal, Phillip Chumchal and Misty Sherrill; great grandchildren: Gage, Grant, Baylie, Dylan, Caleb, Logan, Kason, Preston, Ben, Sarah, Tori, Maci, Addyson, Brayden, Cassidy, Kayleigh, Justin, and Jacob along with nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at St. John Catholic Church in Hungerford on Sunday October the 14th, 2018 at 6:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm.  Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, October 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church with Father Charles Dwomoh officiating.  Interment will follow at St John Catholic Cemetery in Hungerford.   Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
