Amelia Valdez Piña

Amelia Valdez Piña, "Millie" of Houston, passed away on December 28, 2023, at the age of 75. Amelia "Millie" was born December 5, 1948, to Miguel Valdez and Cruz Jasso in New Gulf, TX. 

She married Armando Piña on December 18, 1976, in Fort Stockton, TX. She enjoyed going to casinos and playing Bingo. Even when she was sick, she would have someone carry her oxygen and still play Bingo. She was basically a "spender" (lol) and loved shopping - even though she never wore the new clothes!

Millie was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Miguel Valdez Jr. and Gilbert Valdez; and a son: Phillip Cochran Valdez.

Millie is survived by her loving husband of 47 years; Armando; daughter: Amanda Marquez; and granddaughter: Emily Marquez Campbell husband Trinity; and grandsons: Daniel Marquez and Eric Marquez.

Visitation in Odessa for Millie was held at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, January 3, 2024, from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm. Afterward, Millie, will be taken to Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton, TX. There, services will continue with visitation on Friday, January 5, 2024, starting at 5 p.m. with a Rosary recited at 7 p.m.   Funeral services on Saturday, January 6, 2024, at 11:30 a.m.  Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow at La Colonia Mexicana de El Campo Cementerio in El Campo, TX.
