Anita Rivera

In Loving Memory Of Anita Rivera August 8, 1925 ~ April 11, 2019   Anita Rivera passed into the arms of the Lord on April 11, 2019 at Wharton Nursing and Rehab in Wharton, TX. She was born August 8, 1925 in Wharton, Texas to Vicente Vallejo and Dolores Guerra Vallejo.   Anita was raised in the Lane City area and lived in Newgulf, Lane City and Wharton.  She loved watching the Astros and Rockets, Crossword Puzzles, and was known for her skills in the garden; there was nothing she couldn’t grow.       She is survived by her daughters, Adelina Raitt, and Tina Marie Thompson and husband Dwayne; sons, Robert Rivera, and John Rivera and wife Jan; Brother, Fidel Vallejo; grandchildren, Rebecca Munos and husband Jason, Sarah Kollmann and husband Alan, Johnny Rivera and wife Renee, and Rachel Rivera and husband Daniel Cantu, Anita Jean Thompson, and Jacob Thompson; and great grandchildren, Jacob Kollmann, Grace Munos, Joshua Munos, Gabrielle Munos, and Elliott Rivera.  She is proceeded in Death by her husband of 63 years, Valentine Canas Rivera; son, Ricardo Rivera; grandson, Joshua Rivera; and sisters, Santos, Trinadad, Francis, and Mary.   Visitation will be held at Wharton Funeral home on Sunday, April 14, 2019 at 5:00pm-7:00pm. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm.  Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mt Carmel on Monday, April 15, 2019 at 10:00 am.
