Antonia G. Lozano Antonia Garza Lozano, 90, of Wharton, TX, passed away on Sunday morning, December 9, 2018 in a Wharton nursing center following a lengthy illness. Antonia was born on March 12, 1928, in Pierce, Texas to the late Manuel and Antonia Cavazos Garza. Antonia was raised in the Pierce area and attended school there. She married Manuel Galindo Lozano, Sr. on September 13, 1942 in Wharton. He preceded her in death on April 21, 2008. Antonia was a homemaker all her life. She enjoyed baking and cooking, arts and crafts, dancing when able and going out to eat. She was a very social person and enjoyed being a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and Holy Family Catholic Church. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sons, Manuel Lozano, Jr., and infant Jose Luis Lozano, sisters, Mary Louise Cuellar and Clemencia Garcia and brothers, Juan Garza and Manuel Garza, Jr. Antonia is survived by her daughter, Sister Anna Maria Lozano of Fort Worth, sister, Mary Helen Martinez of Pearland, half-sisters, Maria Garza and Sara Garza, grandchildren, Janie Elizabeth, Christopher Michael, Tricia Ann, Manuel, III, Brian, Stacey and Jonathan and numerous great grandchildren. She is also survived by her niece that helped take care of her the past 5 years, Silvia Villarreal and her family. Visitation will be held on Wednesday evening, December 12 starting at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton with a Holy Rosary recited at 7 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, December 13 at 11 am at Holy Family Catholic Church, 2011 Briar Lane, Wharton. The Rite of Committal and burial will be at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
