Baldemore Garza

Baldemore Mora Garza, 83, passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 at a Richmond hospital following a lengthy illness. He was born on June 5, 1940 in Bishop, Texas to the late Manuel and Ausencion Mora Garza. 

Baldemore was raised in the Wharton area and attended Wharton schools. He worked as a pipe fitter for several years. He was also a mechanic and worked in carpentry. He enjoyed working, watching Western Cowboy movies. Gun Smoke, Bonanza, the Rifle man and ect. His favorite actor was John Wayne, fishing, making BBQ with a cold beer and his cigarettes and being outdoors. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Julie Daniels Garza, grandson, David Gonzales and brothers, Gilbert, Adam and Lupe Garza.

Baldemore is survived by his children, Rebecca Garza and husband, David Uribe of Lake Jackson, Ruby Garza of Corpus Christi, Jamie Garza of Wharton, Ruben Garza of Wharton, Joe Ray Garza of College Station, Robert Garza and wife, Roxanna of College Station, Frank Garza and wife, Jeanette of Bryan, Roy Garza and fiancée Jessica of Wharton and William Garza of Lake Jackson, the mother of his children, best friend and love of each other’s lives, Yolanda Gomez, sisters, Melba Acuna and Minnie Garza, 29 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren with 2 more “on the way”, plus his dog, Patsy, his little companion that has been crying for him. 

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 after 5pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wednesday September 20, 2023. Serving as pallbearers are Roy Garza, Jr., Nicholas Garza, Frank Garza, Jr., Ben Acuna, Jr. Jesse Guzman III, Michael Hernandez, Izaiah Peralas and Leonico Daniel.
