Barbara Ann Shanks

Barbara Ann Shanks, 78, of Seabrook and formerly of Wharton, passed away on April 8, 2018 at her home.  She was born on October 6, 1939 in Wharton to the late James Orval Carroll and Mary Lois Cox.   Barbara grew up in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School. She was an Art major at Wharton County Junior College.  She met and married Billy Lee Shanks.   She is survived by her husband, Billy; sons, Troy Shanks and his children, Rain, Evey, Mia and Zack, son, Trey Shanks and his daughter, Haley Barnette, daughter, Jennifer Shanks and husband, Steve Kruse, brother Billy Guy and Vicki Carroll and their children Morgan and Nicole, along with numerous family and friends.   Following cremation, a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at Wharton Funeral Home with Danny Mendoza officiating.   Services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
