Barbra Ann Mayes, 56, of Wharton went to be with her Lord Our Savior on January 8, 2019 in Sugar Land, Tx following a brave battle with cancer. She was born on May 30, 1962 in Grand Rapids, MI to the late Charlie Humphres and Zola Doyle Humphres. Barbra lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan until she was 13 years old then moved to Texas. Barbra was a graduate of Pasadena High School. She married Jack Mayes in 1985 in Ft. Worth, Texas. Barbra loved to travel, entertain family and create beautiful crafts. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers: Charlie Humphres and Frank Humphres. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years, Jack Mayes of Wharton, daughters: Latisha Humphres-Robles and husband, Steven of Wharton, Hydee Humphres and Rueben Daily of Houston, and Joanie Ortiz and husband, Dustin of Boling; sisters: Margie Medina and husband, Louis of Houston, Ruth Endsley and husband, Tommy of Rock Island, and Linda Toole and husband, Kevin of Round Rock; brothers: Jimmy Doyle and wife, Debbie of Texarkana and Jerry Butler of Tennessee; grandchildren: Summer Humphres, Alexis Humphres, Nevaeh Robles, Kylie Robles, Zander Arledge, Mackenzie Daily and Madison Daily. Along with many nieces, nephews and close friends. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 13, 2019 starting at 12 noon at Wharton Funeral Home.
