Bennie Bob Wasicek
Bennie Bob Wasicek, 83, of Needville, Texas passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was born in East Bernard, Texas on March 3, 1936, a son of the late Jerome and Rosie Tymel Wasicek.
Bennie was raised in the East Bernard area and attended East Bernard schools. He married Angeline Malota on February 18, 1968 in Fayetteville. Bennie worked as a butcher for Sansing’s super market in Wharton for many years, at the WKM Foundry in Richmond for many years and for the Road and Bridge Fort Bend County Pct. 1 until his retirement in 1994. He had a love of working in his garden and flower beds, tinkering in his garage, and playing with Miss Kitty his cat. He will always be known for his sense of humor and as a jokester. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Leyna Grace Wasicek, sister Josephine Krenek and her husband Robert, brother Alvin Wasicek and his wife Rose Mary, brother in law Vincent Fojtik, and sister in law Frances Wasicek.
Bennie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Angeline Wasicek, daughter Sheila Minks, son Douglas Wasicek and wife Kim, grandchildren, Carly and Mason Wasicek, sister Elsie Fojtik, brothers Leonard Wasicek and Paul Wasicek, sisters in law Doris Matocha, Betty Janak and husband Larry, brother in law Edward Malota, his cat Miss Kitty and his granddog Kaos, and many friends and relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2019 after 10 am at Wharton Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be on Wednesday at 11 am at Wharton Funeral Home with Deacon David Valdez officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be Gilbert Tapia, Mason Wasicek, Gary Kalmus, Albert Tobola, Larry Janak, and Lee Allen Matocha with Carly Wasicek serving as honorary pallbearer. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
