Brenda Joyce Humberson

Brenda Joyce Humberson Brenda Joyce Humberson, 66, of Wharton, passed away on Saturday, April 11, 2020. She was born on July 22, 1953 in Wharton to the late Wilbert Willie and Viola Ludmilla Sabrsula Kalina. Brenda was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School in 1971, and later, Sam Houston State University with a teaching degree. She married Jerry Mann Humberson on December 17, 1982 in Boling. Brenda worked for Boling ISD for 37 years as a Home Economics and English teacher. She loved all the children she taught and enjoyed watching them learn. A few of her favorite hobbies were sewing, cooking, crafts, fishing, growing vegetables and planting flowers. She was also the yearbook coordinator and cheerleader sponsor for many years. Brenda loved her family, and being involved with their endeavors like becoming the den mother when her sons were in Cub Scouts. Brenda was a member of the Texas Homemakers Association. She was a devout Christian and a member of the Abell St. Church of Christ for over 35 years. In addition to her parents, Brenda is preceded in death by her son, Brian Scott Humberson and her sister, Sandra Gail Morse. Brenda is survived by her husband of 37 years, Jerry Mann Humberson of Burr, son, Jeremy Mann Humberson and wife, Kaitlyn, of Wharton, brothers, Wilbert Wayne Kalina and wife, Beth of Wharton, Michael David Kalina and wife, Carolyn of Lexington, Gary Lee Kalina and wife, Rosemary of Wharton and Jeffrey Brian Kalina of New Gulf.
