Carl Eugene Britton November 20, 1958 – December 5, 2023 Carl Britton, 65, of Wharton, Tx passed away on Tuesday December 5, 2023, at a Houston hospital following a brief illness. He was born on November 20, 1958, in Wharton, Texas to the late Norbert and Frances Gilcrest Britton. Carl was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School. He married Roweena Wisnieski on January 14, 1977, in Wharton. Carl worked for Frito Lay in pest control for many years. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching westerns and football on tv, especially the Washington Redskins/Commanders and the Texans. Carl is survived by his wife of 46 years, Roweena Britton, daughters, DeAnne Garcia and husband, Manuel and Kimberly Howell and husband, Adam all of Wharton, sister, Mary Shanks and husband, Don and brother, Earl Britton, grandchildren include Sabin Garza and wife, Hailey, Zackary Howell, Hayley Garcia, Andrew Howell and Austin Howell, Justin Garcia and wife, Amy, Erica Cobb and husband, Bryant; great grandchildren, Hunter Garza, Paige Garza and Charlotte Garza. A visitation will be held on Sunday December 10, 2023, starting after 5 pm with a rosary recited at 7pm at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 11, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Fr. Samuel Appiasi officiating. The rite of burial and commitment to follow Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton. Serving as pallbearers are Sabin Garza, Zackary Howell, Hayley Garcia, Andrew Howell, Austin Howell and Wade Mathis. Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
