Carmen Belasquez, Jr., 72, of Wharton, TX passed away Tuesday, November 20, 2018 at his residence following a sudden illness. He was born on May 30, 1946 in Glen Flora, Texas to the late Carmen Belasquez Sr. and Magdalina Villareal Belasquez. Carmen was raised in the Wharton area and attended Wharton schools. He worked as a welder for many years in the Freeport area. Carmen was known as a hard worker, a jokester and an avid reader of the newspaper. He retired from Zachary construction. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton for many years. In addition to his parents, Carmen was preceded in death by his brothers, David Roque and Joaquin Garcia. He is survived by his daughters, Diana Hernandez of Bay City and Anna Belasquez of Katy, son, Eddie Belasquez and wife, Ashley of Wharton, sisters, Helen Armendariz, , Maria Roque, Cindy Trullinger, Suzy Roque Odem, and Marla Martinez, brothers, Johnny Belasquez, Charles Roque, Richard Roque and Ben Roque. Grandchildren Richard Palacios, Jr, Alexis Saldua, Taylor Renee Belasquez, Ryan Edward Belasquez and Xavier Carmen Belasquez and graet grandchildren, Eliza, Alexandria, Richard III and Jaslynn Leann along with numerous nieces, nephews and friends also survive. Following cremation, Memorial Services will be on Wednesday, December 5th, 2018 at 10am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton, Texas.
