Carolyn Virginia Gerdes

Carolyn Virginia Gerdes, 75 of Boling passed away on Friday March 7, 2025 in her home. She was born on September 22,1949 in Stevenson, Alabama.

 In her early childhood her family moved to Boling where she attended school, graduating in 1968. She married Jennings Austin Gerdes on June 26,1975. This marriage created a family and memories that will be cherished by their daughters. She worked for Texas Instruments in Stafford, where she met Jennings. She then furthered her career at an accounting firm in Houston. After retiring from there she continued her education and became a CNA, a job she truly enjoyed. She enjoyed spending her time sewing, antiquing, making vintage shadow boxes, and her favorite shopping.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jennings, her parents Lloyd Carroll James, mother Allie Pearl Johnson James, and her sister Alice Ruth Malloy. Carolyn is survived by her daughters, Tanya Sanchez and husband Robert(Bobby) of Boling and Penny Holthaus and husband Ryan of Harveyville, Kansas. Her eight grandchildren Koby Sanchez, Dustin Holthaus and wife Ashley, Klay Sanchez, Austin Holthaus, Rachael Holthaus, Kiley Sanchez and fiancé Sterling Hopkins, Kyle Sanchez, and Dalton Holthaus. Her two great-grandchildren Abigayle and Truman Holthaus.

 The family would like to extend a gracious thank you to Lynn Watson, Angel Care of Wharton and Angel Care Hospice of BayCity for the wonderful care they took of their mother/grandmother. 

At her request there will be no visitation or service.
