Charles Chuck Grant

Charles “Chuck” L. Grant Jr., a beloved son, father, and brother, who left this world on January 16, 2025, at the age of 57. Chuck was born on October 19, 1967, and lived a spirited life in Wharton, Texas, cherished by family and friends alike.

A devoted member of Utica Baptist Church, Chuck embodied kindness and compassion in all his interactions. He found profound joy in the simple pleasures of life, whether it was spending tranquil hours hunting deer, casting a line while fishing, or riding horses alongside his mother, Kathy. Above all, his greatest happiness came from the love he shared with his daughter, Sanja, who was the light of his life.

Chuck had a passion for cooking that was unmatched, often participating in Bar-B-Que cook-offs and bringing loved ones together around the grill. His laughter, generosity, and spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by everyone whose lives he touched.

He is survived by his devoted mother, Kathy Grant of Wharton, TX; his loving daughter, Sanja Grant of Florida; and brothers, Chad Grant and wife, Kathleen of Seneca, SC; Chane Grant of Wharton, Tx, and Corey Grant Wharton, Tx; nieces and nephews Alana Beitz and husband, Adam, Alexis Grant, Kalin Grant, Madison Grant, Hayden Grant and Tristan Grant. Each cherished the memories they created with Charles and will carry his spirit forward in their hearts. He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Grant, Sr.

Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 10 a.m. with Pastor Donnie Melton officiating. Burial will follow at Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandon "Woody" File, Rodney Tedder, Daniel Zahradnik, Bo Kucera, Thomas Patterson and Michael Chapa.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation.
