Christopher Canales

Christopher Canales, 37, of Richmond and formerly of Wharton, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2020.   He was born on November 16, 1982 in Wharton a son of Marin Canales and Linda Sagala.

Chris is survived by his wife, Kristin Canales of Richmond, his daughter, Madison Canales, son, Jaxon Canales, father, Marin Canales of Wharton, his mother, Linda Sagala of Richmond, aunt, Carol Lynch and husband, Terry of Wharton, nieces, Sarah Lynch, Mikah, Kenley, and nephews, Kamden and Cameron, his sister-in-law, Morgan Pullen and husband, Spencer, mother in law, Kathy Hines, grandma, Guadalupe Ramos. Chris was a loving father, husband, son, and a friend to everyone.

Chris was raised in Wharton and graduated from Wharton High School with the class of 2001.  He later attended and graduated from Wharton County Junior College and the University of Houston-Victoria with a bachelors’ degree in Business Administration. He married Kristin Tucker on June 1, 2012 in Richmond. Chris enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his family. He showed his love for them and his friends through his cooking, for which he had a passion. He was exceptionally close to his 3-year-old son, Jax, who found in his father the warmth and nurturing every young child needs. Chris was the backbone of his family and an ardent supporter of his 14-year-old daughter, Madison, as she pursued her athletic dreams, traveling the country to wrestling tournaments. He also enjoyed movies with his family, crawfish boils and was a big fan of baseball and the UFC. Chris was always there to help relatives and friends. Even a brief meeting with him would bring a smile to anyone's face. His warm, gentle demeanor and forgiving nature will be sorely missed.

Memorial services will be held at a later time.
