Craig Robert Sears, 66, was born on May 1, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to parents, Edward and Mary Van Andel Sears. On May 24, 2018, in East Bernard, TX, he lost his four-year battle with cancer. Craig graduated in 1970 from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston, TX. He attended Texas A&I University in Kingsville, TX, which gave him to proximity to the coast where he could his love of surfing. Craig loved the outdoors and enjoyed exploring it on surfboard, motorcycle, canoe, jet ski, or whatever he could get his hands on. It was his love of adventure that enabled him to see much of the USA and brought him many new and lifelong friends. It was no big deal for he and his buddies to strike out on a 5000+ mile motorcycle trip across the Western States. He often chose roads seldom traveled and camped in remote areas to sleep under the stars as he believed this brought him closer to God. Professionally, he was licensed as a Master Electrician, but prided his best job in being a father and loving husband. While his daughter, Caitlin, was young, he structured his work days, so he could be available to get her off to school and be there when she got home, an opportunity he treasured. Craig had many interests and skills which he generously shared with his loving family and loyal friends. He is survived by his beloved wife of 26 years, Donna and adored daughter, Caitlin. He is also survived by his sister, Barbara Newell of Atlanta, Georgia, and brother, Phillip Sears of Jacksonville, Florida. He leaves behind many other members of extended family whose presence were very important in their lives. He was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brother David Sears. Craig was a loving, warm-hearted husband, father, brother, and friend to many. He always had a sparkle in his eye, a smile on his face and a hug to share. He enjoyed life with enthusiasm and humor and would encourage you all to do as well in these hard times. enjoyed life with enthusiasm and humor. A memorial service will be held on Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10 am at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard with Fr. Don Ruppert officiating.
