Cris Ann Jedlicka Cris Ann Jedlicka, 58, of Wharton, passed away suddenly on Saturday, October 27, 2018. She was born on September 22, 1960 in Wharton, Texas to the late Duane L. and Leita G. Baker Young. Cris was raised in the Hungerford area and attended school in Hungerford and graduated from Wharton High School with the class of 1979. She married James Jedlicka on November 8, 1980 in Hungerford. Cris worked for Memorial Hermann Medical Group formerly South Texas Medical Clinic for 39 years. She enjoyed watching the Houston Texans and Astros, playing with her grandchildren, and helping with church and community fundraisers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother and father in law, Johnny and Irene Jedlicka, brother in law, Johnny Jedlicka and nephew, Steven Jedlicka. Cris is survived by her husband of 38 years, James Jedlicka, daughters, April Jedlicka of Wharton, Lori Matula and husband, Russell of Wallis, son, Ryan Jedlicka of Wharton, brothers, Steve Young and wife, Sara of Guy, Rex Young and wife, Suzette of Hungerford, and Kevin Young and wife, Theresa of Clute, grandchildren, Russell Matula, Jr., and Liam Matula. Visitation was held in the evening of Monday, October 29, 2018 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hungerford with a parish rosary recited at 7pm. Funeral Mass and rite of Committal will be Tuesday, October 30, 2018. Burial will follow in the St John Cemetery in Hungerford. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Young, Jason Young, Nathan Young, Westley Srubar, Forrest Srubar and Kyle Mazoch, with honorary pallbearers, her grandsons, Russell Matula, Jr. and Liam Matula.
