Cruz Olivo, 76, of Wharton passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Wednesday morning October 17, 2018 at her residence in Wharton. Cruz was born May 3, 1942 in Wharton, Texas to Teodoro and Margarita Belasquez Olivo. Cruz was raised in the Wharton area and lived here her entire life. She was a caregiver all her life for her family, which she loved dearly. She also worked for the Eldridge Family here in Wharton and always talked about them and their children. We will always appreciate all they did for her. Her favorite pass time was watching her novellas, and she helped raise her nieces, Mary Jane Jacquez of Wharton and Mary Ann Olivo of Brazoria. Cruz is survived by her brothers, Jesse Olivo of Arkansas, John Olivo and wife, Anna of McCamey, Joe Olivo and wife, Yolanda of Palestine, along with numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, her brothers, Alfredo, Daniel, Herman and Paul Olivo preceded her in death. Our special thanks to Hospice nurses with AMed Hospice and a Thank You to all of you that brought a ray of sunshine to my sister and her family. Visitation will be held after 9 am Monday, October 22, 2018 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Wharton with rosary recited at 930 am and the Funeral Mass at 10 am. Cremation will follow.
