Dan Harvey Leach

Dan Leach, 88, of Rosenberg, went to be with his Lord and Savior on April 18, 2024, with his loving family at his side. He was born on July 25, 1935, in Childress, Texas to the late Marks Monroe and Lillian Gertrude Moore Leach.
Dan was raised in Childress and graduated from Childress High School in 1953. He worked for American National Insurance and retired from Unitrin. He married the love of his life, Barbara Jean McEntire on June 30, 1955. Dan enjoyed raising rabbits, pigs, and chickens, working in his yard, going fishing, and spending time teasing his family and friends. His favorite thing was playing with his grandchildren and later, his great grandchildren, all who will miss him dearly. He was a devout member of Avenue N Church of Christ in Rosenberg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Juanita Tidwell, Oleta LaFern Lanham, Raenetta Dolhite, infant sister, Lola, Reedus Leach, Paul Leach, Billie Marks Leach and Barton Jerome Leach.
Dan is survived by his wife of 68 years, Barbara Jean Leach, daughters, Janet Ruth Boone and husband, Allen of North Zulch and Ret. M.Sgt. Sue Elaine Grasty and husband, Ret. M.Sgt. Jason Grasty, of Blairsville, GA, son, Dan Randall Leach and wife, Kimberly of Rosenberg, grandchildren, Dan Randall Leach II, Courtney Toll and husband, Dustin, Carissa Mooney and husband Jason, Amanda Daniel and husband, Kevin, Ashley Owens and husband, Patrick, Adrian Lawson and husband, Justin, JoeDan Boone and wife Mary, Olivia Kelly and husband, Sean, Odis Souther III, Kaitlyn Grasty, and Tyler Grasty and great grandchildren, Aiden, Andrew, Aubrey, Cheyenne, Byrnlee, Boston, Branch, Dominic, Kolbe, Madison, Savannah, Mackenzie, Jackson, Alyssa, Kinley, Kylie, Justin II, Alice, and Whitney and great grandchild Simon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society, the Alzheimer’s Association, or the charity of your choice in Dan’s name.
Visitation will be on Monday April 22 after 11 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home, with funeral services at 1p.m. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
