Daniel DeLeon Garcia, Sr.
Daniel Garcia, 83, of Boling, loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, passed away at his residence in Boling surrounded by his loving family.
Daniel was born on December 19, 1935, in El Campo, TX to Jesus and Nieves DeLeon Garcia.
He worked at Texasgulf Sulphur for many years before going into the construction industry. He married Virginia Ramirez on June 29, 1963 in Wharton. Daniel shared his love of fishing with his children, taking them on many trips with him. He also enjoyed gardening and yard work. He was a story teller extraordinaire, spinning tales into great memories for his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Daniel was preceded in death by his parents and all of his siblings.
His family was the center of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Virginia; sons, Bruce Alex and wife, Carolyn of Wharton; Daniel Garcia, Jr. and wife, Trudy of New Jersey; Chris Garcia and wife, Celia of Pledger; Jerome Garcia and wife, Maria of Rosenberg; Randy Garcia and wife, Rachel of Wharton; Michael Garcia of Pledger; Jessie Garcia of Pledger; Jeffery Garcia and wife Susie of Boling; Steven Garcia and wife, Maggie of Boling; and Johnny Saucedo of East Bernard. Daniel is also survived by his daughters Elizabeth Sepulveda and husband, Michael of Richmond and Cynthia Gonzales and husband, Raul of Richmond as well as 25 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held Wednesday, June 5 after 10 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home with funeral services beginning at 11 am. Burial followed at Evergreen Cemetery in Wharton, TX. Serving as pall bearers were his sons Daniel Garcia, Jr., Chris Garcia, Jerome Garcia, Randy Garcia, Michael Garcia, Jeffrey Garcia, and Steven Garcia. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Jerome Garcia, Jr., Jeffrey Garcia, Jr., Jesse Garcia, Bruce Alex Garcia and Anthony Garcia.
