Darlene Estrada

Darlene Estrada, age 79, of Wharton, passed away Friday, September 20, 2024, at her residence. She was born on January 20, 1945, in Wharton, Texas to the late Samuel and Margarita Gaona Rodriguez.

Darlene was raised in Wharton and attended Wharton High School. She was a homemaker all her life and enjoyed raising her children. Darlene and Aurelio Jaimes were a couple for over 27 years. Darlene enjoyed making tortillas, playing loteria and scratching lottery tickets, family events and going out to eat. She never missed an opportunity to watch wrestling on Monday and Friday nights. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Rita Rodriguez and Manuel Rodriguez.

She is survived by her children, Brenda Palmerin and husband, Jose, Rachel Huerta and husband, Jorge, Jeanette Serrano and husband, Francisco, Charlene Perez and Nicolas Acuna, Priscilla Perez and husband, Antonio, and Paul Perez, sisters, Eva Garcia and Gloria Rodriguez, along with 20 grandchildren and 35 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024 after 6 pm at Wharton Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited at 7pm at the Funeral Home and the Funeral Mass with Rite of Committal wil be held on Saturday, September 28, 2024 at 10 am at Our Lady of Mt Carmel Catholic Church with burial to follow in Wharton Cemetery.

Funeral services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
