David Perez

David Perez               David Perez, age 57, of Wharton, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, in a Sugar Land hospital following a brief illness. He was born on April 17, 1961, in Wharton, Texas, a son of the late Bacilio and Otilia Lopez Perez. David was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School, class of 1980. David married Debra Massey on December 8, 1987 in Wharton. David worked for Terra Fertilizer, later named Agro Distribution, since he was 17 years old until he retired in 2016. In his spare time, he enjoyed BBQing with friends and family. In addition to his parents, David is preceded in death by his daughter, Tanya Nicole Perez, and grandson Ruben Mojica.             David is survived by his loving wife, Debra Perez of Wharton, daughter, Christina Perez of El Paso, and son, Gene Massey II of Houston, brothers, Basilio Perez and wife, Dolores of Wharton, and Joe Perez of Wharton and sister, Esther Jiminez of Houston, grandchildren, Jordan Malone, David Yuenger, Andrew Yuenger III, Raiden Yuenger, Justin Vasheghani, and Tristan Perez. A celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2018 starting with visitation at 6pm and  memorial service at 7pm at the Wharton Funeral Home Chapel with Dolores Perez officiating. Funeral services are under the direction of the Wharton Funeral Home
