Dolores V. Salazar Dolores V. Salazar, 72, of Wharton, passed away on Sunday March 10, 2019 at her sons’ house in Katy with her family by her side. She was born on May 17, 1946 in Seguin to the late Rosindo and Ramona Gomez Valles. Dolores was born and raised in Seguin and attended school there. She married Johnnie Salazar in Wharton on February 14, 1968. He preceded her in death on June 28, 2003. She worked as a housekeeper for many years. She enjoyed dancing, cooking, entertaining others, being a mom, and serving at her church in Katy by making and selling breakfast tacos for Sunday services. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, John Salazar, grandson, Zach Salazar, and brothers, Rudy Valles and Louis Valles. She is survived by her sons, Christopher Salazar and wife, Shannon Peacock Salazar of Katy, Kenneth Salazar and wife Lucinda of Rye, Texas and daughter, Carole Salazar Kimbel of Deer Park, grandchildren, Anthony Salazar, Kelly Salazar, and Trevor Salazar, sisters, Dora Garcia, Lucy Garcia and Alice Mata and husband, Oscar, and brothers, Jimmie Valles and Raymond Valles. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton starting at 10 am with a rosary recited at 4:00 pm. The Mass of Christian Burial and Rite of Committal will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 starting at 11 am. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
