Dorothy A. Kutach

Dorothy Kutach, 83, of Wharton, Texas, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, August 14, 2024. She was born on April 7, 1941, in East Bernard, Texas, to the late Emil and Annie Orsak Hanzelka.

Dorothy was raised in the East Bernard area and attended East Bernard High School. Dorothy married V.J. Kutach on July 20, 1957, and he preceded her in death on February 2, 1996. She worked as a restaurant owner operator in the Burr area for several years. Dorothy loved fishing and hunting, traveling and was known as a simple country girl. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, Kevin Kutach.

Dorothy is survived by her sister, Eve South, of Cypress, Texas, niece, Michele Cernosek, of Cypress, Texas, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends and extended family.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024, after 9:00 am with rosary recited at 9:30 am followed by Mass at 10:00 am at St John the Baptist Catholic Church in Hungerford, Texas. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
