Dorothy Aleen Schroeder

September 15, 1930 — April 30, 2019

 

Dorothy Aleen Schroeder, 88, of Houston and formerly of East Bernard, passed away on Wednesday, April 30, 2019 at her son’s residence following a lengthy illness.  She was born on September 15, 1930 in East Bernard to the late Otto Dehnel and Mary Vancura Dehnel.

 

Dorothy was raised in the East Bernard area and graduated from East Bernard High School.  She married Chester Schroeder on September 4, 1955, he preceded her in death on April 2, 2009.   She while raising her family, she was active in the Girl and Boy Scouts and sold Avon products. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister: Jeanette Kirk and brother: Arthur “Buddy”Dehnel.

 

She is survived by her daughter: Terry Lynn Carter and husband Cary of Middleburg, Fl; son: Ray Alan Schroeder and wife Jennifer of Houston; grandchildren: Desireé Forster and husband Chris, Amber Schroeder and Crystal Schroeder; great grandchildren: Helaina Forster and Jasmine Forster; along with nieces, nephews and numerous close friends

 

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery with Deacon David Valdez officiating.

 

Funeral services under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com.
