Dorothy Agnes Twardowski Dorothy Twardowski, 80, of East Bernard, Texas was born in Hallettsville, Texas on January 20, 1938. Her parents were Robert and Elizabeth Stary Michna. She passed away on June 28, 2018 at an assisted care center in Needville, Texas. Dorothy was raised in the Wharton area and graduated from Wharton High School in 1956. She later attended Wharton County Junior College. Dorothy married Edward Twardowski on October 19, 1959 in Wharton. He preceded her in death on July 2, 2001. She worked as an instructional aide for many years at East Bernard schools, retiring in 1998. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, attending family events, and volunteering at church functions, including the annual bazaar and raffle. She was also active in her faith, going to ACTS retreats and Disciples in Mission meetings and was an Extraordinary Minister of the Eucharist. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters and the Retired teachers of Wharton County. She is survived by her loving daughters Kathleen Kelly and husband, Chris of Spring and Kimberly Hundl and husband, Robert of Damon; grandchildren, Bryan Kelly, Jacob Hundl, and Eric Hundl and sisters, Evelyn Hale and husband, Bob of Porter and Irene Mullins and husband, Gus of Boling. Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 3, 2018 at 9:00 a.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:00 led by Catholic Daughters. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. with Father Don Ruppert officiating. The rite of committal and entombment will follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in East Bernard.
