Ervin "Buster" Barta

Ervin, “Buster” Barta, age 85, passed away on Thursday, April 5, 2018 in a Beaumont Hospital.  He was born in Bonus, Texas on December 14, 1932.  Mr. Barta is survived by his wife of 63 years, Wilma Smithey Barta, and his two daughters, Carol and Linda and her husband, Rodney Lukaszewski.  He is also survived by two granddaughters, Sara and her husband, Nate Esser; Katy and her husband, Richard Falcone and two great granddaughters, Andi and Charli Esser.  He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers and 4 sisters.  He lived in Sour Lake for 50 years and was a member of The Lady of Victory Church.  He was a veteran serving in the Air Force.  Mr. Barta loved fishing, gardening and baseball. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 10th at 9:00 a.m. at Wharton Funeral Home in Wharton.  The funeral service will be held immediately following at 10:00 a.m. with the interment to be held at Lake Side Cemetery in Eagle Lake, Texas in the family plot.   A rosary to be determined at a later date will take place in Sour Lake.  Funeral Services are under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.  Condolences may be left at whartonfuneralhome.com
