Frances Quijas Gonzalez

Frances Q. Gonzalez, 85, passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at a Wharton long term care faculity following a brief illness. She was born on December 3, 1937 in New Gulf, Texas to the late Antonio and Trinidad Castillo Quijas. 

Frances was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School. She married Hilliaro M Gonzalez, Sr in 1965. He preceded her in death in 1991. Frances worked for many years for the Texas Department of Corrections as a guard. She enjoyed cooking, spoiling her grandchildren, helping people in need, and being a bookkeeper. She was also a Certified Nurse Aide and an adovacate for the Juvinile Court Conforance. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Raymond Michael Gonzalez, brothers, Eulilio (Larry) Quijas, Daniel Quijas, Raymond (Sonny) Quijas and Antonio Quijas, Jr and granddaughter, Francesca Annette Gonzalez.

Frances is survived by her children, Michelle G. Salinas and husband, Richard, sons, Hilliaro Gonzalez Jr. and Ray Anthony Gonzalez, sister, Mary Elva Quijas, brother, Abram Quijas grandchildren, Raven Sky Quijas Gonzalez, Hunter Moon Quijas Gonzalez, Hilliaro Gonzalez, III, Anthony Michael, Daniel Keegan Goza Gonzalez, Hillary Nicole Rivera, Jeremy Aaron Salinas, Janelle K. Salinas, and Richardo Salinas, III and Kourtney Salazar, great grandchildren, Kyana Taylor, Kolby Taylor, Jayden Salinas, Jerren Salinas, Jaxton Salinas, Jetson Salinas, R.J. Maldonaldo Ivory Jo Garza and her favorite niece Anessa Quijas. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 after 9 am at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 12 Noon Saturday September 23, 2023.
