Gary Lee Hill
Gary Hill, 68 of Wharton passed away on Tuesday, November 2nd at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 28, 1952 in Wharton to the late Norman and Lena Jurek Hill.
Gary was raised in the Boling area and graduated from Boling High School. He later attended Wharton County Junior College. While at WCJC Gary was on the rodeo team, as a bull rider. He also participated in the sport in his high school days. He married Mary Jane Horta on November 25, 1992 in Boling. Gary worked as a distributor for Budweiser for many years before working at Total Safety in Quality Control. He loved to golf, hunt and fish. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, kids and friends to so many places, to include Branson, Missouri, Las Vegas, Nevada and Dallas, Texas to watch his favorite team the Dallas Cowboys. He loved having family over to BBQ for football Sundays, make crawfish and throw the best parties for everyone to come over and enjoy family time. The Houston Astros was his favorite baseball team. His heart was his grandkids and most recently his 3 great grand babies. He had a beautiful soul and loved all his Boxers. Chloe, his most recent Boxer went to Heaven to be with him. In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by his infant brother, Steven Hill.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jane Hill, daughter, Courtney Elizabeth Prentice and husband, Colt Jay Prentice, daughter, Leslie Marie Mata, sons, Andre Batilla, Rudy Batilla, III, and Joshua Daniel Granado, brother, Larry Hill and wife,Kathy of Bolling, grandchildren, Maddox Jay Prentice, Gavin Lee Prentice, Angel Rene Granado, Adrian Rene Granado, Elizabeth Andrea Batilla, Andre Jacob Batilla, Isaiah Batilla and Joshua Adrian Granado and his great grandchildren, Michael Anthony Gaona, Maverick Lee Gaona and Arie Marie Gaona.
Visitation will begin after 12 noon, Sunday with funeral services set for 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Wharton Funeral Home.
