Gilberto Hernandez Gilbert Hernandez, 27, of Lissie, passed away from injuries sustained in an automobile accident on Saturday March 9, 2019 near Wallis, Texas. He was born on November 17, 1991 in Eagle Lake to parents Cristino and Martha Sauceda Hernandez. Gilbert was born in Eagle Lake. He was raised in the Lissie area and graduated from East Bernard High School with the class of 2010. He later attended and graduated from Lincoln Tech in Dallas where he obtained the skills to be a welder. Gilbert loved dancing, many times he could be seen swinging a pretty lady around the dance floor at county fairs and was one of the best at BBQ around. He loved to laugh, and enjoy good company, knew how to put a smile on your face and was known as a classy dresser. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Maria and Juan Sauceda. He is survived by his parents, Cristino and Martha Hernandez, grandparents, Esteban Olivo and Felipa Hernandez sisters, Elvira Saldierna and husband, Jose Homero Saldierna of Kyle Texas and Gizella Hernandez and husband, Abel Garcia of Lissie, nieces and nephews, Kay Nicole, Kayden Jay, Kylii Lynn, Liann Jayse and Lennyn Jaymes and many, many friends. Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard starting at 1:30 p.m. with a parish rosary recited at 2:30 p.m. and the Funeral Mass and Rite of Committal at 3, all at Holy Cross Catholic Church in East Bernard. Burial will be in the Lissie Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Roman Hernandez, Angel Hernandez, Josh Janicek, Adan Jasso, Gabriel Naranjo, Jay Martinez, Savannah Sommers and Joel Rivera.
